About
Inscape Collective

Grow Together

Join us as we form lasting friendships, engage in programs that foster personal growth, and facilitate the interconnectedness of our community.

What is Inscape Collective

Inscape Collective is a collective in Midtown Rockford at 201 7th Street, the former home of the Just Goods Fair Trade Store. We are excited to carry on the legacy of community-oriented activities in this beautiful space. Inscape is a unique social enterprise. Our retail shop sells products from diverse female artists, artisans and entrepreneurs. Proceeds from our sales go towards subsidizing a wide-array of life-enhancing programming to ensure that it is accessible to women of all socio-economic backgrounds. We will offer programs in areas ranging from the creative arts, holistic health, exercise and entrepreneurial skills, to meditation and mindfulness. The ultimate aim of these programs is to help women make meaningful friendships while engaging in activities that promote self-development and creativity.

Why Midtown District?

The Midtown location is strategic to our mission—to provide economic, creative, and self-actualization opportunities to people of all backgrounds from throughout the Rockford community. Our goal is to promote intercultural communication and community, bringing diverse women together to learn, inspire one another, and grow together.

Jhoole

Inscape Collective is a new project under the umbrella of Jhoole, a registered 501c3 organization, that has, until now, focused primarily on an initiative to empower female artisans in Maheshwar, India. Athleisure wear products made by the Jhoole cooperative in Maheshwar are sold at Inscape, amongst a variety of products from local artisans and entrepreneurs: proceeds from Jhoole products are shared between operations in Maheshwar and our new programming in Rockford.

Inscape Collective has received initial backing from Rockford Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, and Rockford Area Arts Council.
